Creamy Piggy

It’s winter and cold outside and your immune system is running low on battery. What you need is something with protein and something hearty which will not only warm up your body, but also warm up your soul. What better dish than a famous German “geschnetzeltes”? Sliced pork pieces in a white wine cream sauce. Best devoured with wild rice. You can find this little recipe hidden in any German household.

Let’s get porky…

Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients for 2 portions:

  • 300 gr lean pork
  • 200 gr whipping cream
  • 100 ml white wine
  • 1 tbsp olive¬†oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 50 gr peas
  • 1 dash of cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Utensils:

  • Frying pan (I prefer it Asian style and use my wok)
  • Chopping board
  • Kitchen knife
  • Garlic press

ToDo:

Cut your pork into thin slices about 0.5 cm thick. Chop your onion up into small pieces and press your garlic. Grab your frying pan and heat up the oil. Sauté your onion and garlic and throw in your meat. Turn down the heat to medium and keep stir frying your meat. Then add the wine and let it simmer for about a minute so your meat can suck up the delicious taste of the wine. Then add all the other ingredients and stir and cook for a few minutes at medium heat. Lecker smacker!
