Simple Meatballs

Meatball are simple, yet yummy and yet something very unexpected. You don’t come across meatballs very often. Not even on a menu of an Italian restaurant. Well, at least not where I live. And sometimes I just want a good old fashioned juicy meatball together with spaghetti and this reminds me of my favorite scene from lady and the tramp. Those cute little doggies sharing their plate of spaghetti with meatballs. Aaahh it lets me think for a short moment of time that the world hasn’t gone totally haywired. Well back to reality. I also enjoy meatballs with mashed potatoes or potato gratin. Well if you have no idea what to make for your child’s birthday party, just make a bucket full of meatballs. It always works.

Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients for 2 portions:

  • 150 gr ground beef
  • 150 gr ground pork
  • 100 gr breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil

Utensils:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Frying pan
  • chopping board
  • Kitchen knife
  • Garlic press

ToDo:

Chop your onion up real tiny and press your garlic. Then mix all your ingredients except for the oil together in your bowl. Then start forming your meatballs. Your meatballs should be as big as a walnut and not bigger, if not the outside will burn while the inside is still raw. Now heat up oil in a frying pan and start frying your meatballs at medium heat for about 6 minutes. Keep turning them so they are cooked evenly. Lecker smacker!
